Crazy Times

I haven't posted in about 3 weeks now because life has been C-R-A-Z-Y!!!!!!!!!!

So in those 3 weeks,

My cousin got married. She was the most beautiful and laid back bride :)

I went to Virginia Beach to help my best friend find an apartment. (So bittersweet!)

I got a new teaching job in JCPS!

Alex was the best man in his best friend's wedding.

We celebrated Baby G at Kate's 1st shower!

I'm hoping to get back on a regular schedule with these posts because I love this little outlet and being able to look back on the memories :)

I hope everyone has a fantastic Wednesday!

Weekend Recap

This weekend was full of time spent with friends and family, which is the perfect weekend in my book.
Friday after work I met my best girls, Kels and Lauren for drinks and dinner.
We had a fantastic margarita at Galaxie in Nulu.

Then we walked next door to Royals and I had the BEST chicken taco!

While I was out and about running with friends, my poor Pop is still in the hospital :( but trying his best to get better.  My family and I would love all the prayers we can get!

Saturday morning Kelsie and I checked out Made Market at The Pointe. It was so neat seeing all the handmade pieces they had available.

Then we enjoyed a few hours and beers by Kelsie's pool. :)

I left the pool a bit early to get ready for a fundraiser put on by Alex's family. His cousin, Logan, is biking across the country (started in LA and will end in Virgina Beach) for Alzheimer's awareness. Since he is from Louisville, and this was one of their stopping points, they had a big fundraiser at Captain's Quarters on the river. It was the perfect weather for an outdoor event, we had a blast while supporting a great cause.

On Sunday Jackie, Katelyn and I drove to Lexington to meet our Make-A-Wish Kid! We volunteer for the MAW foundation and are "wish granters". It was a wonderful experince to get to meet our child and help them in making their wish come true! On our way back home, we stopped at our friend Taylor's to meet her precious baby boy, Theo.

To end the weekend, I headed out to my other friend Taylor's for a cookout. Her family lives on beautiful property in Bullit County. It was the perfect end to a perfect weekend. :)

Here's to hoping you all had a fabulous weekend!

Book Club

I love reading and so do many of my girlfriends. We are always discussing which books were reading and which we have on our "to-read" lists.
This led us to start our very own Book Club!
This meme made me laugh out loud!

Currently there are 5 of us and we just finished our first book, "The Couple Next Door"by: Shari Lapena. (While this book kept my interest, I was a bit disapointed :( It seemed predictable and just kind of "eh"... I'm hoping the next one will be a winner!)

How our club works, is we take turns picking the book. For example, I picked this first book, Madison will pick the next, and so on. We will meet once in the middle and again at the end to discuss! I'm super excited for Book Club and because it's a perfect excuse to hangout with my girlfriends! :)

Madison will be revealing our next book soon and I can't wait!

If you have any suggestions for books we should read, please send them our way :)
Hope everyone has a fantastic weekend!!!

Let's be REAL...

Last night I went to hang out with my parents and we were just talking about life and all of its ups and downs, which lead my Mom to give me the lovely, constructive advice that my blog needs to be more "real"!

This guidance came about after having a conversation about my Grandfather, Pop, who is not in the best of health right now. He is currently in the hospital recovering from a procedure to remove a large infection in his leg. My Dad went to the hospital to visit him and said that the wound was pretty intense. After describing, in detail, the wound I told my parents they were lucky to have my sister (the nurse) to take care of them because blood, hospitals, needles, etc.Freak.Me.Out!!!!!

I said, “Mom, I'm just kidding, don't worry I'll help" then I said, "Oh, gosh thinking of this is giving me chest pains" :) ..... After this conversation and much laughter, Mom said “This is what you need to talk about in the blog. Make it real, tell people about the real and funny stuff.”

So I'm gonna be REAL with y'all...

> I have horrible anxiety.

> I hate staying home alone… especially at night.

> I’m not a fan of stupid comedy, they try too hard.

> I am always scared I'm missing out on something... the FOMO is real y'all.

> I am big time freaked out when I think of health/death/future/etc.

> I'm a worrier.

> I am a super organized, yet messy person. ??? haha

I'm sure I could go on for days... but just wanted y'all to see that my life isn't always rainbows and unicorns and that I am REAL!

Hopefully my Mom will be happy to see that I took her advice! J

Have a great weekend!!!

Gulf Shores Recap

I'm home from vacation and have finally gotten back into my daily routine.. but boy yesterday was rough.

Today I want to share pictures from our vacation with you all!

I want to give a special shoutout to Alex's Mom, Missy and Step Dad, Rodney for making this vacation possible! There were 23 of us that went, and we had a BLAST!

Missy and Rodney, thank you both SO much!!

We were on the third floor and had an amazing view. I loved the setup of this condo!

Yes, yes it is.

One of the many, yummy breakfast meals we had! Missy and Rodney are fabulous cooks :)

Loved enjoying my coffee on the balcony with a good book.

Alex and I soaking up the sun!

Alex's cousins, Lincoln and Luke playing in the sand! They are THE cutest !!!

Alex and Lincoln rocking their America gear!
In the background of this picture you can see the dark skies making their way in.... that was Tropical Storm Cindy...which caused us to stay inside for the next three days :(

The storm didn't stop us from having fun though. We went to happy hour, played card games, went shopping at the outlet mall and just made the best of it!

The storms were crazy!!!

The sun finally decided to come out so we did get to spend Friday, our last day on the beach!

Here are a few more random pictures!

Dinner with my handsome date :)

Alex, his grandfather (Pop) and his brother Michael.

Lincoln and I playing with snap chat filters.. I love that sweet boy!

Alex's cousin, Kelsey and his grandmother, Monie. I think the storms were getting to them.. haha :)

All in all, it was a wonderful vacation and a much needed time to relax.

Thanks again to Alex and his family for including me in their trip, it's much appreciated.

Liz
